Big Brother!

When I came across this photo all I could do is stare. There she is. Karaska Crow all grown up and graduating High School. Now she's off to college and leaving a void in the families lives she left behind. How could this little girl know the impact she has on everyone she knows? I say, "little girl" in the most endearing form of flattery I know. At the tender age of 6 years old, she became a sister-in-law (again!) when Jedbot and I were married! It's hard realizing that the years have gone by without any regard to those who live in them. And now here she stands, 19 years old, with the world in front of her. Where has all the time gone?

When I see the bond between this BIG brother and LITTLE sister, I can say with most certainty that it's a bond that will never be broken even through the miles between them. It's amazing to witness the fondness they share and the love they show. It goes without saying that if either one of these two ever needed something, the other would graciously offer. That's just the way they are. A brother and sister, 15 years apart in age, with a relationship any sibling would envy.

Karaska has waited so long for it to be "HER TIME". She's watched from the perspective of a small child as her brother's left on missions, went to college and got married. She ran around at the wedding reception of her oldest sister, not really understanding why each family member, one by one, was going away and leaving her behind. She's waited patiently for it to be her turn. Well her time has come. She's off being an adult, doing adult things and making a life for herself. She no longer needs permission or approval for any decision she may choose to make. She's watched everyone else in her family do this and now it's her turn.

It's only fitting that I would be at my computer at a loss for words (somewhat) staring at this photo, writing about the baby of the Crow Family, and in awe of the woman I see before me.
So as I sit here, a small grin appears on my face as I come to realize that this brother and sister are most likely engaging in a tippy-toe-war, only pausing to snap a quick smile for the camara.
