Twilight

Last weekend we drove to Columbus, IN to visit my brother and his family. Although the visit was way overdue, we DID have a very important reason for making the trip. Twilight!

That's right.

My sisters (including Lisa), mom, and I have all read the Twilight series...actually I have only read the first book...everyone else has long since zipped through the 4 installments of the vampire love story.

The countdown had begun many months ago with the fans of this ever growing popular book, myself included. The days arrived quickly as we planned for the momentous event.

Mom, Erin, and Elyssa met in Louisville for their night of Edward...I mean, Twilight.

The bags were packed by the door, the was cooler stocked with snacks and refreshment for the drive. There was no stopping along the way...no time to waste. Collect the kids from the bus-stop, pick Shelby up from school, swing back by the house and grab Jedbot, then off we go.

The night was planned out down to the hour. Fireworks at 7, to welcome the arrival of Santa to the Columbus Mall where he'll be perched day after day, bouncing children on his lap, and taking orders for various toys and gifts.

Back to Elliot and Lisa's for a little downtime until the 10:10pm movie. We HAD to leave by 9:00 to be certain that we could get tickets. Round the girls up from romping around with Cinnamon (their beloved puppy-dog, now adopted by Lydia), load in the van and excitedly drive to the theatre where the lobby is already packed with Edward fans.

No problem getting tickets or seats. (phew)

Popcorn either. (YES!)

We snuggle into our seats and patiently wait for the opening credits, where everyone (at least the girls) all cheer at the first words uttered..."I never thought much about the way I would die...".

Not sure if that's the EXACT quote, but it's close.

Forks, Bella, dad, new school, Edward (sigh), rain, rain, rain, baseball, bad vampires, danger, love, kisses, blood (no, no Edward), tears, more rain, The Cullens, near death, not dead, safe, safe?, happy ending, happy ending?, sequel...yes.

Basically, I loved it! The girls loved it! Lisa loved it! Lydia loved it!

Going again? Yes. Buying the DVD? Oh yes.

Reading the rest of the series while on Thanksgiving break? Yes. Yes. Yes.

Best movie I've seen in a LONG time! I'm so happy there is a book so I can read it again and again (I'm not much of a movie watcher in general... are you seeing that trend?).
